This picture was taken at our Spring get-together of local herpers. We found this specimen on the bank of a very small pond. No, it is not smiling! It is spreading its head and puffing up its body to appear bigger and meaner as part of its defense. I wonder how many people would kill this snake thinking it was venomous? |
